We completed this new house roof install in Fort Collins in October of 2017. The homeowners chose Owens Corning’s Oakridge shingles in Onyx Black. We also installed Lomanco Omni Roll ridge vent to increase attic ventilation. The previous roof was replaced due to extensive hail damage.
OC’s Oakridge is a very popular asphalt shingle – it’s affordable yet a step-up from basic 3-tab/strip shingles, it offers better wind resistance than their 3-tab shingles, and they come with a limited lifetime warranty. However, they are not impact resistant. As of January 2019, the City of Fort Collins requires us to only install impact resistant roofs.
