Steel Shake Roof Installed in Greeley

This new stone-coated steel shake roof we recently installed in Greeley, Colorado, turned out really nice. Because of the roof’s size and complexity, it took a few days to complete. What’s more, due to a lightning storm, we had to quit early one day. This new steel shake roof looks really sharp, and both the homeowner and we are really happy with it.

There are multiple problems with real wood shake. For one, they’re expensive. Although a wood shake costs about as much as a steel shake roof, they don’t last nearly as long. That makes them both expensive in the short term and the long term.

Wood-shake roofs also don’t last very long. If properly installed, most wood-shake roofs last only about 50 years. On the other hand, a steel shake roof should last twice as long.

Wood-shake roofs also require regular treatments to remain resistant to insects, mold, rain, snow, UV light, hail, and other elements. Steel shake roofs require no such treatments, as they’re naturally highly resistant to all those things.

Contrary to popular opinion, real wood shake is not eco-friendly. That’s due to all the chemicals they must be treated with to stay resistant to the previously mentioned elements. Stone-coated steel shake roofs, on the other hand, are eco-friendly because they don’t require any treatment and are recyclable in our area.

Because steel shakes don’t require any treatments, they’re extremely low-maintenance. Unlike most other roof coverings.
