Standing seam is a concealed fastener metal roofing product ideal for homes. The screws used to hold the roof down are hidden. The ‘standing seam’ is a 1-2 inch seam that locks each sheet to each other. Standing seam is our in-house sheet metal roof covering. We form your new standing seam metal roof in our yard for a precise fit to your roof. If you’re wanting a durable, long-lasting roof that helps to cool your home, you want standing seam.

Ribbed sheet metal roofing describes the profile. It is an exposed fastener roofing product – the screws used to secure it down are exposed to the weather and visible. Our ribbed sheet metal roof offerings may appear identical, however, they are slightly different. Exposed fastener sheet metal roofing is great for agricultural buildings, such as barns and feed storage buildings. It’s still a durable roof, yet less expensive than standing seam. Like standing seam, exposed fastener sheet metal roofs are available in dozens of colors. If you’re looking for a new metal roof panel that’s economical yet strong for your farm, exposed fastener sheet metal is what you want.

PBR

PBR is a tall rib sheet metal product used on either roofs or walls. Major ribs are 12″ apart on center and 1 1/4″ tall. Although 26 gauge is standard, 22, 24, and 29 are also available. It’s available in over 2 dozens colors from Snow White, to True Black and everything in between, such as Bright Red, Classic Green, Cobalt Blue, and Saddle Tan.

Pro Panel II

Pro Panel II has a similar profile of Imperial Rib with a rib height of 5/8″ and 9″ apart, in either 26 or 29 gauge. It’s available in over 2 dozen colors, including Patina Green, Patriot Red, Ocean Blue, Galvanized, Rustic Steel, and others.

Corrugated describes the wavy pattern of this sheet metal roof. Like ribbed metal roofing sheet, it’s an exposed fastener product. If you’re looking for the most durable new metal roof panel for your barn or other outbuilding, 24 gauge corrugated is what you want.

New Metal Roof Panels Advantages

  • Long-Lasting
  • Hail Resistant
  • Fire Resistant
  • Mold, Rot Resistant
  • Cool/Energy Efficient
  • Huge Variety of Colors
  • Solar Panel Friendly
  • Recyclable
  • Low Long-Term Cost

Durable

Sheet metal roofing panels are great products. The primary advantage to these is their durability. They are more durable than any other roofing material because: they’re resistant to fire since they don’t burn, they’re slick so heavy snow slides right off, there’s no organic material to them so it doesn’t rot, there are fewer seams so they’re more resistant to wind. Our standing seam roofing panels are 110mph+ warrantied, when properly installed, and are UL 580 Wind Uplift (Class 90) rated. This is the highest wind uplift rating Underwriting Laboratories awards.

Hail Resistant

Sheet metal roofs have all the same advantages as standing seam, but with one extra one – they’re even more hail resistant. That’s because of its wavy shape. The peaks and valleys are the strongest points of corrugated metal. When a hail stones strikes these points, they often shatter or bounce off. When a hail stone hits in between the peak and valley, they’re deflected away. If a large enough hail stone strikes the flat surface of standing seam, it may dent. There are not any flat surfaces with corrugated.

Longevity

As with metal shingles and corrugated roofing panels, standing seam is among the longest-lasting roof. They last so long because they are so durable. On average, if properly installed, you can expect 70 years or more out of your metal roof. Traditional asphalt shingles, even impact resistant ones, often only last around 25-30 years. You might replace your asphalt shingle roof two or three times in the lifespan of one metal roof.

Cool

Standing seam and other sheet metal roofs are also cool, meaning they help cool your home. If you’re looking for the best roof to help lower your Summer cooling bill, these metal panels are it. They have the highest solar reflectivity and heat emittance. Solar reflectivity refers to its ability to reflect solar energy. Heat emittance refers to its ability to emit or release heat. The better a matter is at both of these functions, the cooler it is.

Cost

If you’re looking for an inexpensive roof, think long-term cost, not short term. Although asphalt shingles cost less initially, they often cost more over the long run due to how short-lived they are. Metal roofing, even though they cost more initially, often cost less in the long run since they last so much longer than asphalt shingles.

Colors

There are more color options available to you with sheet metal roofing. In fact, they come in more colors than any other roofing product. Period. Asphalt shingles come in, at most a dozen colors. Even stone-coated metal shingles are just as limited to the number of colors as asphalt shingles. Wood shake is just a few variations of brown. Standing seam and PBC, on the other hand, comes in dozens of colors. Dozens!

Eco-Friendly

Want an eco-friendly roof? One that’s more eco-friendly than wood shake? That’s metal. That’s because metal is not only recyclable, but it doesn’t take trees to make it. Some consider wood shake the most environmentally-friendly. However, wood shake comes from, you guessed it, trees. With metal, no trees are harmed during its production. We have identified metal recycling centers in Greeley, Fort Collins, Denver, and Boulder. We send used metal roofing material to a local metal recycling center, unless the owner requests otherwise.

Solar Panel-Friendly

Standing seam roofing panels are solar panel friendly. Many homes in Colorado are having solar panels installed. It’s makes sense when many cities offer solar rebates. All the solar panel installation companies we’ve contacted along the Front Range, all have metal roofing mounts for their solar panels.

New Metal Roof Panels Installation

When choosing the most durable roof, it’s a good idea to also choose a professional metal roofing installation company. You don’t want to get an expensive roof installed and not have it last as long as it should. A high quaulity roof doesn’t neccessarily mean it will last. We also stand behind our work with a 5-year workmanship warranty. For those looking for metal roof panel installation in Colorado, we also offer free estimates and inspections.

To go along with your new metal roof, we highly recommend snow retention systems, also known as roof snow guards. These now only help prevent ice dams, but also help prevent snow from sliding down your new metal roof and piling-up in front of your door preventing you exiting.
